Chapter 1 - Surah-Al-Fatihah

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ١ Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٢ Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen

All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds

Al-Fatihah  2    

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٣ Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem

the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

Al-Fatihah  3    

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤ Maaliki Yawmid-Deen

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

Al-Fatihah  4    

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ ٥ Iyyaaka na’budu wa lyyaaka nasta’een

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

Al-Fatihah  5    

ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ٦ Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem

Guide us along the Straight Path,

Al-Fatihah  6    

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٧ Siraatal-lazeena an’amta ‘alaihim ghayril-maghdoobi ‘alaihim wa lad-daaalleen

the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.
